How a B2B SaaS brand went from 100 to 16,000+ organic visitors in 9 months

MioCommerce grew from 100 to an estimated 16,700 monthly organic visits through an SEO strategy that combined content creation, on-page optimization, and link building.

The Challenge

A website, a couple of blog posts, and limited time to plan what came next

MioCommerce had a website and a couple of blog posts. However, organic search generated only about 100 visits per month, leaving the business with limited opportunities to reach prospective customers.

The company wanted to change that. But with a small workforce managing other business responsibilities, creating a content strategy was difficult.

Before writing the next article, the management needed to make several critical decisions:

  • Topic selection: Which searches connected with problems MioCommerce’s software could solve?
  • Search intent: Did the reader want an explanation, a comparison, or information to inform a purchase?
  • Content planning: Which topics deserved attention first, and how would they connect?
  • Production: Who would research and write the articles alongside existing responsibilities?
  • On-page SEO: What changes did the website need to give its content a better chance of ranking?

A list of blog ideas wouldn’t resolve those questions. MioCommerce needed a plan that aligned customer research with content production and website improvements.

Otherwise,  the team risked spending its limited time publishing articles that attracted the wrong readers or had little connection to a buying decision. Even relevant topics needed someone to develop them into useful, well-written pages.

The challenge was to build a manageable content strategy and execute it.

MioCommerce needed a seasoned SEO specialist to own research, planning, and writing, and to connect that work to the website’s broader SEO requirements.

The Solution

An SEO strategy backed by research, writing, and on-page improvements

I joined MioCommerce as its content lead and dedicated copywriter. My role was to develop and implement the SEO content strategy.

First, I conducted an SEO audit to identify technical issues, on-page improvements, and relevant searches the website wasn’t targeting. The findings informed a six-month content plan focused on MioCommerce’s products and prospective customers.

The work brought together four areas:

  • Content strategy: I selected topics for readers researching business problems, evaluating solutions, and considering a purchase.
  • Content creation: I wrote the articles needed to implement the strategy.
  • On-page SEO: I optimized meta tags, headings, and internal links.
  • Link building: I conducted guest-post outreach to earn backlinks to MioCommerce’s website.

The content plan gave MioCommerce a defined publishing direction.

  • Top-of-funnel articles targeted service business owners seeking advice on attracting customers, growing their businesses, and improving daily operations.
  • Middle-of-funnel articles targeted owners struggling to manage bookings, customer communication, or payments and researching potential solutions.
  • Bottom-of-funnel articles focused on prospects comparing specific software platforms and deciding whether to purchase MioCommerce.

In addition to the new articles, I improved how pages connected. Internal links gave readers clear routes to related information, while improved headings and metadata clarified each page’s purpose.

Guest-post outreach added an external layer, complementing the improvements on MioCommerce’s own website.

With me leading MioCommerce’s content strategy, the company had a dedicated SEO specialist and copywriter, so management no longer had to guess what to publish or how it would contribute to the company’s goals.

The results

The numbers

After 9 months of SEO and content work, MioCommerce achieved the following results:

  • 100 to 16,700+ monthly organic visits
  • 167× traffic growth, giving MioCommerce more opportunities to reach prospective customers through search
  • 9 to 15 booked meetings per month
  • A content playbook that MioCommerce could use to plan future articles

Honest caveats

  • The CMO still reviewed the articles and pages. I managed the research, strategy, and writing. The CMO checked product details and messaging before publication. His involvement remained part of the process.
  • Results took about 4 months to start showing. Organic traffic didn’t increase immediately after we published the first articles. I spent the first 2 weeks researching, mapping keywords, and fixing the on-page SEO issues identified during the audit.
  • The content needed ongoing attention. Sustaining performance required reviewing rankings, refreshing older articles, and adjusting topics as search demand and competition changed.
